Delta has installed a new $17m bottling line at its Southerton plant in Zimbabwe, as part of its expansion plans. The plant, set for commissioning next week has the capacity to produce 70 million liters per annum or 42,000 pint bottles per hour.

According to the beverage manufacturing company, more than $200m has been invested on its production facilities since 2009, in a bid to improve capacity.

The new plant is expected to improve supplies, besides eliminating product shortages on the market.

Delta is also planning to invest $4m in new fermentation vessels at Southerton and Belmont lager plants in Zimbabwe and the US, respectively.

Multinational brewing and beverage company SABMiller owns 36% interest in Delta.
